On Daring Greatly: Starting Over

IMG_4938_daring greatly

Ta-dah!

Daring greatly to start over, I attempt to post regularly on this site.

Why Footnotes2Stories? Why not a brand new blog title? Why move from my previous blog site where I have blogged since 2009 (albeit with intermittent posts and random topics)?

I believe our stories are connected. I have never turned loose of this idea.

“So in the long run the stories all overlap and mingle like searchlights in the dark.… And my story and your story are all part of each other too because … we are at least a footnote at the bottom of each other’s stories.” Secrets in the Dark

Frederick Blechner, Secrets in the Dark

As I see it, every story whether long or short fits as a footnote to larger stories. The best footnotes pique interest. Footnotes can lead to primary sources. And who knows where a trail of breadcrumbs can lead the curious reader when following a story’s footnote?

Despite myriad beliefs, cultures, experiences, preferences and prejudices, underneath our skin we share something fundamental.

We are human beings and being human, we crave stories.

Moving Day

As for the blog move, I have paid for a domain for years without using it much. Wanting to use WordPress software (for it’s sleek look) or Dreamweaver (build from the ground up), I didn’t know how to implement either. But I’m willing to learn as I go.

So please pardon me while I explore this new format, one I hope to navigate without the help of my techno-cratic husband.

Starting over, again, is for me Daring Greatly. (Will write about this sensational book another day. Brilliant Brené Brown merits undivided attention.)
