About Me:
Hello,
I’m Carol, aka. CMG, which stands for Carol, Mom, Gran.
These roles––wife, mother, and grandmother––have given me wide experience and depth of insight into life, relationships, and principles that have kept my ship afloat in all sorts of storms.
“Even a child is known by his doings . . .” Proverbs 20:11
Years after my mother died, my aunt sent me some of the letters my mom had written to her. In one of those letters my mother wrote that she had let me walk to Sunday School by myself, but she told me to come straight home afterward.
Annoyed, she said I stayed for church as well.
My mother wrote, “When Carol gets out of my sight, she takes things in.”
Reading that letter all those years later, astonished to realize I was only five years old at the time, her words made me know that even as a child God had his hand on my heart.
I know whom I have believed because since I was a child, I have been getting to know God through His word.
I suppose my mom was right though.
I take things in.
I take in so that I have something to give out.
I’ve had excellent teachers and mentors. I earned a Master’s degree from Dallas Theological Seminary. I served as a Bible Study Fellowship Teaching Leader for nine years. After several years of study with excellent photography professionals, I owned and operated a photography business.
It seems as if now I collect hobbies, including photography, needlepoint, cooking, travel, and currently I am learning to paint with watercolors.
I love to learn. I love to share what I learn.
Read on this site all sorts of story footnotes about life as seen through the lenses of my cameras, biblical and cultural commentary, and viewpoints that reveal virtues and values I aspire to reflect in my life.
